The Art of Intentional Movement — Part IV
The gBalance Bar: Revealing Your Engagement.
You have learned to create the contraction, maintain the intention, and carry IPCM through purposeful movement. Now it is time to put that awareness to the test.
In Part IV of The Art of Intentional Movement, MisterG introduces the gBalance Bar (gBB) — a signature tool of the gTonnicks® Method designed to provide a simple yet revealing reference for the quality of your movement.
Using the gBalance Bar, MisterG demonstrates how IPCM — Intentional & Purposeful Contraction of the Muscles — works together with posture, alignment, stability, and whole-body control.
The bar itself does not create the movement. You do.
Its purpose is to help reveal what is happening within your body as you move. Changes in the position of the bar can make losses of alignment, stability, or muscular engagement easier to recognize, giving you an opportunity to observe, adjust, and reconnect.
The objective is not simply to keep the bar balanced. It is to become increasingly aware of the muscular engagement and postural control required to move it — and yourself — with intention.
Engage. Align. Move. Observe. Adjust.
Part IV brings together the principles explored throughout The Art of Intentional Movement and introduces a practical tool for continuing to refine IPCM throughout your gTonnicks practice. Simple in form. Extraordinary in function.
